The Victorian Greens have welcomed plans to merge VicRoads and Public Transport Victoria into the Department of Transport as a stand alone body.
Spokesperson for transport, Sam Hibbins, says the move must be supported by an integrated transport plan to ensure infrastructure is built for the public good, not for private profit or political opportunism.
The plan closely resembles a Greens’ policy for a transport super agency, taken to the 2018 election.
